Been some time since I wrote in my blog mostly because I spend so much time on the ministry side so this morning I want to take some time and do so. Keeping up with what is going on in my wife and my life can be somewhat confusing but God has the path and direction laid out.
We left our intercity church a few months ago and I don’t expect people to understand other than we did. Our direction from the Lord is planned out and we will follow regardless of what man thinks. We started attending Crossroads Bible Church and found a new fire for the lost.
They have two campuses, east and west. As of this past Thursday they will be building on 6th and Front Street downtown Grand Rapids. This is awesome because now the church body will be able to become one and be even a larger source on Grand Rapids West Side for reaching the hurting.
We also started going to an intercity outreach called the BSHOP (Bridge Street House of Prayer). Working the streets of the West Side for over 7 years I never knew this was here. God’s plan is so awesome if we take the plunge and follow it even if it seems to hurt some times.
The Crossroads and the BSHOP have the same heart and vision that God gave to Nancy and me. I may not have found it if I did not follow Gods direction.
Miss us, pray with us and follow us as we follow Christ it is up to you.
Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Matthew 5:11-12 (NLT) 11 “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.
Do you have the Peter mentality? The one that before he received the power of the Holy Spirit denied Christ 3 times. We go through life as believers living on the edge of Christ and the world. Many of those we associate with would never know if we are believers or not for fear of what they may say or do to us.
We join along with the dirty jokes, curse with them, get drink with them, back bite, control and even put others down.
Jesus says here that God will bless you if you stand up for Him. He tells you to rejoice and be glad for the things they say and do to you. Sounds like Peter in 1 Peter 1:6 (NLT) “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.”
Jesus knows firsthand what the world can do to you. The leaders of the church are the ones that hated Him. Those that were supposed to shepherd the flock, care and guide the flock were the ones that believed they had the power to rule and pushed Jesus to the cross.
Today I rejoice in this what Christ and others have done by crucifying my Savior, beating to death those that would dare to stand up for God I can be strong to the end.
Today, get off your butt and stand. Stand for Jesus because He stood and died for you.
Blessings
Psalm 119:105 (NLT) “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
Interesting scripture here but do you really understand the truth here? I want to break this apart and bring the word into a complete balance.
The “Your word here” is the Hebrew word: dābar [ דָּבַר, ] This common verb, found in approximately 1,150 places, means “tell,” “say,” and “speak.”dābar means “tell” with reference to the process of “informing” or “explaining”.
Something interesting here with the word dābar. This is not referring to a written word but a spoken word. This word dābar is a communication word. David spent time praying and meditating on what God was speaking to him. Continue reading
I always wonder why at the many jobs I have had in the past that some people just hate me and nothing I do will change that. Even at this current job some people will do everything in their power to trip me up. They have gone into the office and told outright lies in order to get me in trouble. It is very frustrating and I find myself getting very upset about it. I don’t do anything to hurt or harm them in any way shape or form. I am praised by many for doing an awesome job, working hard and making no mistakes and yet a select few have made it a mission to get me and take me down.
I came across this scripture in 1 John and even though I have read this hundreds of times it just popped off the page at me. Please look at it with me and I will break it down.
1 John 3:12-13 (NLT) says: “We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.”

Hebrews 12:1-5 (MSG)
1 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Continue reading
Has anyone ever told you that you wear your emotions on your face? Well this is more accurate than you may think and I will be using scripture to prove it.
We find the first instance of this when God talked to Cain in Genesis 4:6 (NASB) Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? Continue reading
Today’s scripture in the photo on the left seems somewhat confusing especially after reading John 3:16 (NASB) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Why would God tell us not to love the world when He does and even sent His Son here to die for it? The answer is very simple when you bring His word into balance.
In context of scripture God is talking about two different subjects. John 3:16 God is referring to Mankind and here in 1 John He is talking about the world system. God is saying that there is nothing in this current world system that is good nor is it good for you. Continue reading
1 John 2:15 (NASB) Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
